Maple Sugaring $4 (members: no
charge)
Come to Up Yonda and
discover the craft that has become a legend in the northeast. As the sun
begins to warm the trunks of sugar maple trees, sap starts to flow. This marks
the start of the sugaring season in the Adirondacks. Join us for Maple Sugar
Basics and enjoy the process that yields sweet rewards!
We'll tap, collect, and boil the sap of sugar maples on the property. We'll
cover all the steps to get from sap to syrup. Our new sugar house opened in
March of 2000, making this popular program even better!
Maple Festival
$4 (members: no charge)
Experience the art of maple sugaring at Up Yonda Farm! This event will
feature presentations and demonstrations of the sugar making process. See
how we extract the sap from maple trees and listen to guest speakers as they
describe the history and evolution of maple sugaring. There will be guided tours
of our sugarhouse throughout the day. There will be samples of syrup and a
variety of locally produced maple products will be available for sale.
Maple Festival fee does not include Pancake Breakfast.
